Welcome Brothers and Friends!

We hope that you find this site to be informative and educational. Here you will find information regarding the activities of Port Royal Lodge as well as the Fourth Masonic District of South Carolina.

Port Royal Lodge #242 was Chartered by The Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Ancient Free Masons of South Carolina on December 27, 1899. At it's inception, the Lodge met at the former U.S. Customs House at the foot of Paris Avenue in "old" Port Royal. In 1968 , the membership was outgrowing it's current home and felt the need for a larger, more modern facility. They purchased property and constructed a new building on Ribaut Road, where the Lodge has continued to meet ever since.

By virtue of it's close proximity to the U.S. Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort and the U.S. Naval Hospital at Beaufort, Port Royal Lodge has played a role in helping to spread the bonds of Freemasonry around the world. Due to the many Fraternal Bonds enjoyed with members (past and current) of our nation's military and because of their tendencies for overseas deployments, it has often been remarked that "The Sun Never Sets on Port Royal Lodge". We are equally proud to to claim individuals from the police and fire services, construction, entrepreneurial, financial and technical fields as being part of our diverse membership.

The Lodge is currently accepting donations of your gently used clothing and miscellaneous household goods for our upcoming yardsale, the proceeds of which will support our many community enhancement programs. To make a donation or arrange for pick up, please contact a Lodge member, leave a message at the Lodge (843) 524-4101 or send email to: secretary@portroyal242afm.org
